Rear demolition and construction, and pool

This project involved demolition of the rear of the home and construction of a large open plan living / dining / kitchen area and a second storey addition, pool (built by Infinity Pools) and cabana renovation.

"Good Foundations Building (GFB) & Infinity Pools were recommended to us by a friend who had used GFB previously and were very pleased with the result. This was our first renovation, and as we were completely inexperienced in this field, we were extremely careful in choosing our builder. The scope of our job was particularly large (renovating and retaining all the original features in a 1930’s home, and complete contemporary renovation downstairs, adding a 2nd storey and a pool). We put the project out to tender and chose Andrew and his team because he was approachable, committed and had a proven track record in project managing a job of our size.

We can say we chose the right builder because we are thrilled with the end result. GFB finished the project on budget, and on time, and have been good to work with. We had regular site meetings, and were always advised of any variations or issues that needed to be addressed. Sometimes these variations were ideas that were suggested by GFB and saved us money along the way. We worked with GFB on a cost plus model and the pricing and invoicing was clear & transparent. Andrew communicated clearly when there were changes to projected costs. He was also very good at keeping the project moving forward and completing on time. There were challenges along the way but these challenges were met in a positive manner and were always solution orientated. Andrew’s team and subcontractors were excellent, always approachable and willing to go the extra step to ensure we were satisfied. Our home is now an absolute pleasure to live in, the pool is magnificent, it is joy to look at, and the kids just love it.

We would certainly use Good Foundations Building & Infinity Pools again. "
